Challenges and IntegrationMaster Solutions:

Difficulty Description The SystemBlend™ solution
Deploying Components Incorporating subsystem models from different organizations into an integrated simulation can be problematic without a coordinating automation framework. Determining what’s available, how to deploy it, and what “knobs” are available is tricky without a coordinating framework. Analysts can readily discover and integrate components using simple drag-and-drop and easily discover any simulation parameter.
Managing Component Resources A subsystem model typically includes more than the model itself, with supporting resources such as libraries, scripts, data files, images, and more. It can be tricky to incorporate all of these into a larger simulation while maintaining their connection to the component, coordinating scripts among those of other components’ resource files, and preventing file conflicts. IntegrationMaster packages components and their supporting resources into a well-defined format so they can be automatically deployed into the larger simulation.
Connecting Components Housekeeping to connect component outputs and inputs can be tedious and confusing, even when components comply perfectly with ICDs. IntegrationMaster guides analysts through easy drag-and-drop functionality by providing visual cues that indicate what connections are available and needed.
Managing Parameters Determining, setting, and coordinating parameters and valid values in components supplied by multiple simulation groups can be incredibly difficult without an automating framework. Discovering and managing parameters is easy with IntegrationMaster because each contributing group provides their component’s valid default values, which are then presented in a uniform, easy-to-understand format.
Monte Carlo Analysis

Without a coordinating framework, managing parameters in a Simulink Monte Carlo analysis can be particularly tricky because scripts must be built, debugged, and updated to set the values for each run in the ensemble. The scripts present challenges when parameters are buried in complicated subsystem models. Variation types can be unclear, as can be variation parameters such as values for mean and standard deviation.

With IntegrationMaster, every parameter includes Monte Carlo variation information, enabling automated analysis.
System Evolution Without a powerful versioning facility, managing the overall simulation and its many parts as the simulation grows and evolves requires continuously monitoring for incompatibilities to avoid even simple errors. Ad-hoc project management when integrating new components and features can stall analysis groups and slow entire projects. SystemBlend’s publishing and versioning facilities ensure only compatible components are available and connected, and makes the introduction of new or updated components seamless and natural.
